I'm a 27 year old west-gote who moved here from
Smaland during the mid- 70's. Following my

industrial design at some major Swedish
companies. Design is also one of my hobbies,
which has helped me as technical illustrator at
Volvo.
Naturally I am
also very interested in outdoor activities and
travelling and have been since early childhood. I
enjoy hiking in the mountains and down-hill
skiing in Sweden and the Swiss alps, I try to ski
at least once a year. During my leasure time I
enjoy running, tennis, areobics and indoor
climbing. My international visits are mainly the
US and Europe, although I look forward to
discovering Asia and Himalaya which is going to
be very exciting. At the same time I look forward
to increasing my heigth record by 2.5 km..."

Johanna
Pålstorp
"Hi!
I'm Johanna, I'm almost 24 years old. I have just
finished my degree as a teacher for math and
natural sciences for grades 1-7. During my
edjucation at the Institute of Edjucation I also
studied physical edjucation so that I can teach
P.E. to middle school grades, besides my
edjucational degree I have also studied english
and physiology. I have yet not started to look
for work whole hearted yet, but continue to study
math at the University of Linkoping. During my life I have
always been very interested in athletics
especially swimming, which I have also competed a
bit. Now a days I mainly swim for the exercise. I
also am a certified swim instructor and
lifeguard, and have been working as one for
several years.
What do I enjoy
doing ? I enjoy aerobics, I have just recently
completed a course as a aerobics instructor. I
also enjoy the nature (hiking, paddeling, skiing
etc). I have hiked a great deal in Skane and the
mountains in Sweden. My experience with heights
are Kebenekaise south peak (which isn't a whole
lot to come with, when comparing it to
Himalaya...!).
I also enjoy
travelling, which I have done throughout Europe
and the US, I am now looking forward to my visit
to Himalaya and Pakistan."

Birgitta
Nilsson
"I
am 30 years old and come from the southern part
of Sweden, currently I am living in Stockholm.
Here I work as a sales rep for Selena a smaller
pharmaceutical company, we sell Tiger balsam etc.
The road to this job went via my physical therapy
degree and earlier work done in Gothemburg. Active body work is what I
mainly do during my leasure, which has been very
important for me as well sa gymnastics, handball
and soccer. Now a days I'm a aerobic instructor
at Friskis & Svettis, I also enjoy running. I
was climbing for a period, although I had put it
on the shelf for a few years.
I have been hiking
in Kebenekaise, around Mt. Blance, and the
Dolomites"

Linda
Pettersson
"Hi,
My name is Linda and I'm 22 years old. Currently
I'm working as amassage therapist at Sture
bathhouse in Stockholm. Earlier i have worked at
different companies with preventative measures
towards work related injuries. Following High School I
spent 1 year I England as a au-pair, there after
I had planned on continuing my international
travelling, but since I have built up my
operation here in Sweden my excursions have had
to take a back seat.
I have always
enjoyed hiking in the mountains, as a child I
hiked in the mountains with my parents and this
intrest has been with me ever since. Since I am
raised in Nynashamn I have always been very close
to the skerries, where me and my friends have had
our own adventures. I have always dreamt of
greater adventures, such as Himalaya, Greenland,
Antarctic and New Zeeland. So when I got intouch
with this expedition I knew the time was right.
What I expect from
this trip is the magnificant nature, a different
culture, and during a longer period of time live
according to the laws of nature far from the
luxuries of today. I have no earlier experience
of this type of hike besides the hikes in the
Swedish mountains, and I have not made any long
distance trips except around Europe.
I am looking
forward to this trip with both excitement and
entuasiasm and a bit of anxiety in my
stomach."

"I
am 27 years old, and work at Ericsson Telecom
with development of internal systems/equipement
that describe the quality of AXE network, with
other words programming, demonstration of
equipement, business trips for installation and
co-operration with others within this area.
Earlier I have worked with support, computer
courses, networking and programming. I have been to the
mountains in Sweden and Norway. Hikes and
survival exercises during all different seasons
was part of the program that I was part of during
my enlistment in the Home Guard. Besides this I
have been involved with several different
activities. I signed up for this trip because it
was a good chans to experience something very
different in nature and unusual in comparison to
other trips. My intrests include meeting friends,
I have no earlier experience of longer trips.

am 25 years old, I work with developing computer
systems for a small company in Haninge. We
develop a scheduling system for conferences,
mainly within Scandinavia. I have no earlier
experience of trekking but one has to start
sometime! I enjoy spending time outdoors, and
thats why I know that it be will a pleasure to
participate. My expectations with this trip are
that it will be exciting, fruitful and full of
memories and if I am lucky enough to see a snow
leopard it would make the entire trip even better
!
During my leasure
I enjoy playing golf, which I began last year. I
am living with Paul Gadd, who also is going to
participate.
My previous
experiences of longer trips include Vietnam, USA,

Paul Gadd
"My
name is Paul, I'm 27 and currently living with
Lotta Södergren is will be joining us on the
expedition. I am currently studying to be a
flight engineer at the collage of Malardalen, by
the time summer is here I will be finished with
2/3 of the program. Sometimes I do some extra
work at an home for elderly, where I worked prior
to my edjucation, it was a good way to compensate
my financial aid. During my leasure I enjoy
different types of sporting activities, I usually
play tennis a couple of hours a week and during
the spring I try to play golf with Lotta. My expectations with this
trip to Pakistan is to be able to experience some
that I have have experienced before, I have no
prior experience of the wilderness although I
believe that I will be able to do it. Mountains
intrest me, so it's going to be very interesting
to see some of the worlds highest mountains.
Previous trips include the US, West Indies,
Bangkok and the Maldives."

"I
am currently taking time off from my job as
studio executive at a computer magazine company,
IDG and am currently studying at the University
of Stockholm. There my major is is psychology
with a special intrest in personnel- and labour
questions. Magazines
have always been of intrest to me, I regularly

ahve previously worked with text layout. Through
my work I have been able to travel around Europe,
US and Hong Kong.
In my past I have
participated in mid- and long distance running
(IFK Lidingö, Spårvägen Athletic club). To run
is still a very big part of my life as well as
other outdoor activities.
I have hiked and
climbed in the Swedish mountains (Kebenekaise).
"Higher
mountains" have long intrested me and I see
this trip to Pakistan as a way of combining all
of these experiences, a new country along with
the adventure of high mountain climbing with
people who thrive after new challenges."
